Martin Foote

Growing up in a musical household, Martin initially learned to play folk-blues guitar from his father, Nigel, who took him to see Joe Robinson, Michael Fix and Tommy Emmanuel – players who inspired Martin to get serious about the guitar. Off went the TV and computer games, and out came the guitar – for hours and hours and hours...

Martin has started to perform locally in the Blue Mountains, including gigs at the Clarendon, the Winter Magic Festival, Katoomba High School, Rotary, and the Golden Kinaree Thai Restaurant, Katoomba. In March 2011, Martin was booked by the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens to play at the 'Sounds Of Sculpture' exhibition where he played solo, and then joined the Tracey Campbell Trio for a few tunes.

Martin impressed Australia's sensational young guitarist, Joe Robinson, with his playing of "Classical Gas" after Joe's concert at the Clarendon, Katoomba.

Just goes to show the rewards that a little inspiration and turning off the TV can bring! Now that Year 12 is behind him, Martin is free to further his guitar studies.
